The honest answer to “how much do forex leads cost” is that the per-record price is the least informative number in the transaction. Two lists at identical prices can differ by a factor of five in cost per funded trader, and the variable that drives that gap is never printed on the invoice.
That said, buyers need reference points. This sets out what moves forex leads pricing, what the market bands look like by region and grade, and how to convert any quoted price into the only figure that decides whether a purchase was good.
The five variables that set price
- Exclusivity. The largest single factor. A record sold once to one buyer costs many times what the same record costs when sold to five, and open-market data sits lower still.
- Recency. Real-time delivery — the record reaches you within minutes of capture — commands the top of the range. Aged bands at 90 and 180 days fall away steeply from there.
- Region. Tier-1 European data carries the highest deposit values and the heaviest documentation requirements, and prices accordingly. LATAM and APAC sit lower on price per record and often higher on connect rate.
- Depth of verification. Carrier-level phone validation and mailbox-level email validation cost the supplier money on every record, repeated on every re-check cycle. Lists without it are cheaper for exactly that reason.
- Volume. Real but usually the smallest effect. A 10,000-record order prices better per unit than 1,000, though rarely enough to justify buying volume you cannot work inside the freshness window.
The shape of the market
| Grade | Relative price | Typical connect rate | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exclusive, real-time | Highest | 85–95% | Floors that can dial within minutes |
| Shared, fresh | Mid-high | 70–85% | Volume desks with a differentiated pitch |
| Aged 30–90 days | Mid-low | 65–80% | Script testing, market entry, nurture |
| Aged 180–365 days | Low | 50–65% | Reactivation angles, long sequences |
| Compiled, no capture event | Lowest | 10–35% | Nobody |
Regionally, the ordering is consistent: Tier-1 Europe highest, GCC close behind, LATAM and APAC materially lower per record. Our own regional tiers, with the coverage and average deposit bands for each, are set out on the lead tiers page.
Converting price into the number that matters
Take any quote and run it through four inputs your CRM can produce in an afternoon:
- Price per record — including any replacement credits consumed.
- Connect rate — the share your dialler reached a human on.
- Connect-to-deposit rate — a function of your sales floor, not the data, and worth isolating for that reason.
- Thirty-day retention — the filter that removes bonus-hunters from the numerator.
The worked comparison is stark. A list at $0.40 per record converting at 0.3% to a funded, retained trader costs $133 per funded trader. A list at $1.80 converting at 2.1% costs $86. The expensive list is 35% cheaper on the only metric that pays salaries — and we have set out the full calculation in cost per funded trader.
Run the sensitivity analysis on those four inputs and connect rate dominates, because it sits at the top of the funnel and every downstream rate multiplies against it. Moving connect rate from 55% to 90% is arithmetically equivalent to making your entire sales floor 64% more effective, and it is considerably easier to achieve.
The hidden costs that do not appear in the quote
Three of them, and together they frequently exceed the data cost itself:
Sales floor time
Every dial costs the same whether the record cost four cents or four dollars. On a list with a 30% connect rate, seventy percent of your agents’ dialling hours produce nothing. At any realistic seat cost, that wasted time dwarfs the saving on cheap data — which is the entire case against bargain lists, laid out in why the cheapest lists cost the most.
Compliance exposure
Undocumented European data carries regulatory risk whose expected cost is not zero and whose worst case is several orders of magnitude above the price of the list. Consent text, timestamp and source URL per record is not a premium feature; it is the difference between an asset and a liability.
Brand and platform damage
Complaints from people who never consented affect your number reputation, your WhatsApp Business account standing, and in aggregate your ability to reach anyone. Platform bans for cold bulk messaging are permanent, and a banned verified number is a genuine operational loss.
What a fair quote looks like
Beyond price, a credible quote specifies these things without being asked:
- The capture event and source funnel for the records.
- Median record age in the specific list, not the pool.
- Exclusivity terms — sold once, or to how many.
- Validation method and re-check frequency.
- A replacement window with a defined trigger. Fourteen days on contactability failures is a reasonable standard.
- A minimum order small enough to test — around 1,000 records.
A supplier who quotes a price and nothing else is asking you to buy on trust in a market where trust is the commodity in shortest supply.
Negotiating sensibly
Three points that actually move terms, in our experience of being on the other side of the table:
- Ask for a longer replacement window rather than a lower price. It costs a confident supplier almost nothing and protects you against the failure mode that matters.
- Commit to a second order conditional on measured results, with the metric agreed in advance. Suppliers price repeat business better, and the conditionality costs you nothing if the data underperforms.
- Buy one region at a time. Discounts for blended multi-region orders are a false economy, because the blend makes the result uninterpretable and you cannot tell which half worked.
The short answer
Budget on cost per funded trader, not cost per record. Start with 1,000 records from a single region, agree replacement terms in writing, work them inside a week with the script held constant, and measure the four inputs. You will have a defensible number for your own funnel within a fortnight — which is worth more than any published price benchmark, including this one.
